The Baltic Sea and the North Sea are basically Denmark’s borders as it is a Scandinavian nation situated in Northern Europe. It has five major areas, with Copenhagen in the center. Denmark’s official language is Danish, and its unit of currency is the Danish krone (DKK).
In addition to having a high-tech agricultural sector, a cutting-edge industry with global leaders in the pharmaceutical, marine, and renewable energy sectors, and a reliance on international commerce, Denmark has a totally contemporary market economy. The vast government social programs, the fair distribution of income, and the high level of life are other traits of the Danish economy. Denmark has a healthy balance of payments surplus and is a net exporter of food and energy. The nation has chosen to not participate in several Maastricht Treaty provisions and matters pertaining to specific justice and home affairs. Despite Denmark’s krone being tied to the euro and the country satisfying the requirements to join the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), Denmark has so far chosen against doing so.
